Program Integrity
As a voluntary program, it is the responsibility of the business to maintain the stewardship measures which earned the certification.
If the program receives reports of non-compliance and the business fails to take corrective action then the participant may be removed from the program.
Promotion of Green Business Plan
Business agrees to promote the Watauga Green Business Plan in one or more of the following ways:
- Display Green Business Plan certificate or decal in prominent location
- Link to www.GreenBusinessPlan.com from business' website
- Use the Green Business Plan logo in brochures or advertising
Business agrees to encourage other area businesses to participate in the Green Business Plan in one or more of the following ways:
- Refer one or more business to the Green Business Plan Coordinator
- Serve on the Green Business Plan Advisory Committee
- Invite others to tour business and see green business practices in action
- Become a mentor and help other businesses green their operations
Employee Participation & Education
Business agrees to encourage employee participation in the Green Business Plan in one or more of the following ways:
- Designate a Green Business Plan Team or Shift Leader
- Hold periodic staff trainings or meeting related to Green Business Plan
- Include employee participation in training materials, job descriptions & performance evaluations
- Post Green Business Plan tip sheets on employee bulletin board(s)
Customer Participation & Education
Business agrees to encourage customer participation in the Green Business Plan in one or more of the following ways:
- Displays or interpretive signs explaining green business practices
- Provide tours highlighting green business practices
- Highlight green business practices on website
Regulatory Compliance
Business is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations including:
- Watauga County Health Department Food and Facility Sanitation Program
- N.C. Department of Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHSA) guidelines
- N.C. Hazardous Chemicals Right-to-Know Act
- N.C. ABC Permit Holder Container Recycling Act
